CD Review: Introducing Foxxjazell - Foxxjazell

Review by Bellson

"I'm gone do me. You gone do you. Life is cool make your move." Those are the first rhymes from the vixen known as Foxxjazell on her debut CD Introducing...Foxxjazell and that quickly sets the tone for the rest of the record. Foxx is here and she could give a damn what you think of her. Foxx's in your face, staccato rhyme style are reminiscent of the days of old-school west coast (JJ Fad, Oaktowns 357) and work well over the mid-temp Electro-House jams like the opening track, "Feel The Vibe" (her first single and video currently on LOGO so go cast your votes), "Sexual Thang" and "Jaded Faded". These are also the strongest songs on the record where beauty and the beat work extremely well together.

Now don't get it twisted for this MTF Diva knows who she is and doesn't take sh-t from anyone, especially her men on tracks like "Used", "Protection" and one of my personal favorites "F**K N***AS" featuring Pam Jones. Introducing...Foxxjazell runs the gamut from sexual provocativeness to female empowerment and the lady Foxx is surely "getting her grind on" with production help from Dave Snow, J2 Beats, Daniel Bijan and the funky Tori Fixx. This record isn't for the deep hip-hop heads for sure but that's not the intent here. There are definitely a few songs that will make you shake your ass or that are so catchy you can't stop singing them. The overall CD is produced very well so I gotta give this girl 3 out of 5 rainbow mics.

I like that cd a lot but I could have done without "Hip it don't stop". Not my fav. She reminds me of Madonna when she first cameout, raw and naive.I wanna see what her next video is gonna be.
