Futuristically Speaking...Never Be Afraid - YO MAJESTY

Review by greenThumb (music reviewer)

Yo Majesty. High Powered.

Who would have thought?? Yo Majesty along with production by Basement Jaxx, CLP, Mercedes, Sunship, Radio C**t, Dee Kline and Hard Feeling.....holy shit. That's the best phrase to describe this album. "Futuristically Speaking... Never Be Afraid" is the breakthrough album that the queer hip hop community has been waiting for. There is no more search for the "first" major label act from the OutHipHop community, because Yo Majesty has rightfully earned that title with the help of Domino Records.

This album starts off more like an indie punk album, than a hip-hop album. This may throw many listeners for an initial loop. But then its right into the unique Yo Majesty beats and flows. Shunda K delivers her dizzying tongue-twisting rhymes on top of heavy electro-hip-hop beats non stop throughout the album. Jewel B adds the layers of raw energy and creative force to each and every track. The women break all new boundaries with the flows, and song arrangements. The have hooks, bridges, machine gun delivery and a sound that cannot be denied.

The power and dynamic of the Tampa duo is captured and delivered on stand out tracks "Blame It On The Change", "Booty Klap”, "Grindin' and Shakin' " and "Party Hardy". The ingeniously catchy track "Club Action" seals the deal towards the end of the record. Club Action" along with the hit "Kryptonite Pussy" (available on I-tunes in a CD Maxi Single) were some of the singles that helped Yo Majesty gain the notoriety that they deserve.

The production is superb and electrifying throughout the entire album. If dance-electro-hip-hop makes you move your ass....then this is the album for you.

I give it 4 out of 5 rainbow mics.
