Tori Fixx, Drew Mason, and Salvimex to Perform at Elizabeth Taylor HIV/AIDS Foundation Benefit

Drew Mason, Tori Fixx, and Salvimex have been booked to perform at two high profile San Francisco Bay Area HIV/AIDS fundraiser benefits for the Elizabeth Taylor HIV/AIDS Foundation (ETHAF). The benefits will be in the form of two concerts that will take place April 23^rd and 24th at The Oakland Opera House’s brand new Club X in Oakland.

The show will also feature dance music artist Xavier Toscano and comedian Xebic.

The artists were selected by the event’s promoter, BYE Entertainment Foundtation. BYE Entertainment Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit which will produce Benefit Concerts, Benefit Festivals, and other special events to bring awareness and raise funds for important causes. Shunda K (pictured above at L.A.'s Mustache Mondays on 2/15/10), fomerly of Yo Majesty! will be performing at this year's South By Southwest music conference. South by Southwest (SXSW) is one of the largest music festivals in the United States, with more than 1,400 performers playing in more than 80 venues around Austin over four days, in March. Eddy J Free and Swanny River were the special guests on this week's OUTing The Music Industry

Producers Eddy J Free and Swanny River split the bill as special guests on OUTing The Music Industry presented by GayMusicRevolution.com and hosted by Dj SirRah. Eddy J Free spoke about his influences, some artists he has worked with in the OUT community (DeadLee, Tim'm West, Tori Fixx,), and his inspiration behind his new project "Eddy Free's Mad City 2010" and why he's donating 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the cd to the Keep A Child Alive Foundation to benefit kids in Africa and India infected with HIV. Swanny River gave some incite to his upcoming cd project "The Movement," and he also elaborated on his involvement with the new tv show "Can You Change The Game," with details on how artists can be a part of the show. Dj SirRah and Swanny River talked about the judges and concept for "Can You Change The Game," and Eddy J Free and Swanny River took questions from the chat room and callers. Bry'Nt Joins No H8 Campaign

NYC based rapper Bry'Nt has been photographed for famous photograper Adam Bouska's NoH8 collection. Bry'Nt encourages others to join.

The NOH8 Campaign is a photographic silent protest created by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska (http://www.bouska.net) and partner Jeff Parshley in direct response to the passage of Proposition 8. Photos feature subjects with duct tape over their mouths, symbolizing their voices being silenced by Prop 8 and similar legislation around the world, with "NOH8" painted on one cheek in protest.

Minneapolis based trans hip hopper Barton Stink was recently featured in the Minneaplis City Pages in their video recap of a Benefit for Bash Back. You can read and see it here. Bash Back! is a network of radical, anarchist and anti-authoritarian queer projects within the United States, formed in Chicago in 2007 to facilitate a convergence of radical trans and queer activists from around the country. Fascinating.
